Visit of EU Ambassador in the Republic of Moldova, His Excellency Peter Michalko at ULIM
His Excellency, Peter Michalko, the Ambassador of the European Union in the Republic of Moldova, has visited the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM).
His Excellency Peter Michalko has met the representatives of ULIM’s administration and held a public lecture before the students themed: “The relations of the Republic of Moldova with EU: successes, realizations and difficulties”.
During the meeting, the rector of ULIM, Associate professor, Dr. Ilian Galben, Associate professor. Dr. Alexandru Cauia, vice-rector for Academic Strategy, university professor, Dr. Elena Prus, vice-rector for Scientific Research and Dr. Valentina Ciumacenco, vice-rector for International Relations have presented to high guest the activity, the purposes and the progresses registered by the academic community of ULIM. The representatives of the university have mentioned that ULIM realizes strategies that ensure a competitive participation in the European space of higher education and have expressed the recognition for the continuous support of EU. In this sense, the official revealed the interest and the availability to identify the possibilities of cooperation and to promote the reforms of research-development in educational system. H.E. Peter Michalko has also appreciated the potential of young men and professors of our country.
Accompanied by the representatives of ULIM’s administration, the Ambassador Peter Michalko visited the important reference points as Center of European Studies and EU Information Center of ULIM.
During the public lecture. H.E. Peter Michalko told about the mission of EU Delegation in the Republic of Moldova and the EU policies, which include the European Policy of Neighborhood and Eastern Partnership.
The students were encouraged to apply to programs of academic mobility financed by EU in order to achieve new knowledge and experience in institutions from abroad. The students had the possibility to put questions, being interested of the plan of actions of EU-Republic of Moldova and the integration prospects of our country in European Union.
At the end of the meeting, on the basis of the decision of ULIM Senate of 20.08.2017, the Delegation of European Union in the Republic of Moldova was awarded the Diploma of Excellence for fruitful cooperation and significant contribution in promoting the universal values and the development of scientific and cultural educational relations between the Republic of Moldova and EU, signed by the President of the Senate, rector and founder of ULIM, Academician Andrei Galben, on 21.10.2017.
